INFORMATION
Laker Schools has always enjoyed strong community support, but this has been especially evident in the past few years, with community members approving multiple Sinking Funds and Technology Bonds to make significant and unique improvements to our facilities. Laker's has the area's only college-spec science lab, a state of the art student dining area with a modern college cafe feel, a unique schedule that provides more elective course options than other schools, and the area's first 1:1 technology program, which now includes both iPads and Chromebooks.
Laker's utilizes a Student Responsibility Center (SRC), which has helped to reduce discipline referrals by 70% over 7 years. They have adopted a school-wide, year-round eligibility program that holds our students to high standards in sports and other extracurricular programs, including a student rewards program, which features quarterly Pride Assemblies with prize drawings and student recognitions, and a comprehensive tutoring program before and after school with transportation provided at no cost to families.

INFORMATION
Cross Lutheran School provides quality Christian education for students in Preschool through 8th grade. This school offers the opportunity for children to learn in a Christian environment. Cross Lutheran is an extension of the family in teaching God's Word daily and in helping children see their lives as a calling in Christ. They strive to help them grow spiritually, academically, physically, emotionally, and socially.
Christianity is not taught only as a separate subject (religion), but is integrated throughout the course of the school day and permeates the school's culture. Cross Lutheran is a Christian school that teaches Christian values based on the Bible. They do not teach Lutheran theology (confirmation classes are held outside of school for church members), and it is not a requirement to be Lutheran. In fact, no church affiliation is required in order to attend Cross.

INFORMATION
Since 1885, St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church has, under God's blessing, operated its own K-8 Lutheran Elementary School. St. John Lutheran School is located on Berne Road just one mile North of Pigeon, MI.
For over 130 years, they have provided a high-quality education to the children of our congregation and community. At St. John's, our children learn in regular courses of study that they would receive at any other Michigan grade school. Yet what sets them apart is that every day, every subject, and every experience is governed by the Word of God. Each class is taught under the light of the unchanging Word of God. Through this, St. John's Lutheran School helps parents to provide the spiritual food that their children need to live a godly life here on earth and to prepare for eternal life in heaven.
