October Newsletter 2022
Dear Residents,
Fall is here with the arrival of much cooler temps.
Hopefully, that will help with the discoloration of our water. We buy our water from the City of Caseville, and they tell us that warmer than normal temps affect the color of the water taken from the lake when chlorine is added. EGLE (Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy) backs up that explanation. Keep in mind that we test our drinking water every day, and it is 100% safe to drink, We hope that the cooler temps clear the water in the next couple of weeks.
Construction on N. Frank Street began officially on Sept. 28th. Weather permitting construction will be completed in 3 - 4 weeks.
Leaf pickup will begin in October, please see the information about Leaf Pickup in this Newsletter.
Repair work is underway at the Lion’s Pavilion at the Recreation Park. The repairs being done will update the pavilion, giving it a new and fresh look.
Have a great fall.
Sincerely,
Michael LePage
Village President

Leaf Pickup
We are asking that you place your leaves on the grass between the curb and the sidewalk. Placing the leaves on the grass, instead of the street, enables us to pick up the leaves during wet conditions and protects our storm sewers in the process. We will start picking up leaves on Mon., Oct.10th and continue to be scheduled to pick up leaves on Mon. & Thurs. until Mon. Nov. 28th pending the weather. Please have your leaves out by 7:00 am on the day of pickup. Do not place anything but leaves in the piles. Also for everyone’s safety please remember if you can’t see the operator of the Leaf Machine, he cannot see you. Thank you for your cooperation.
