Newsletter June 2019
Dear Residents,
Hopefully summer is right around the corner!
The Village has many summer projects planned that will be getting underway very shortly. You may have noticed yellow ribbons on many trees around town, they have been identified and prioritized for removal. If you have a question on one on your property, please contact the Village Hall. Street infrastructure updates, with new water and storm sewer lines, will take place in early August. The streets affected are E. Michigan Avenue from N. Main to Frank Street’s and South Frank Street. Cost of the project is $869,900 of which funding will be covered by the street, water funds and street millage. The project will not require any borrowed funds or additional debt to the Village.
Landscaping will be started and completed at the Pigeon Event Center (formerly VFW) in June. Improvements to Veterans Park, adjacent to the Hall, with demolition of the Pump House building in the middle of the park and replaced with a Gazebo that can be used for weddings or family outings. Weekly yard waste has resumed during garbage day pickups, be sure to have an “X” on the container to identify it for pickup.
Have a great summer!
