October Newsletter 2020

Dear Residents,

Fall is here, and the leaves will be falling soon. Our leaf machine is ready to go and will begin picking up your leaves in the near future. Please be reminded to put leaves on the edge of your grass, and not over the curb and into the street. Wet leaves are harder to pick up.

Last week the East Michigan Ave/South Frank Street project was completed. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during the project. Once again, the project was completed using tax money, and funds set aside for projects. No outside financing was needed for this 1 Million Dollar Project. Since 2004 the village has replaced 1/3rd of the infrastructure and streets.

Please be reminded that our Village Voting site for the upcoming election, will be at the Pigeon Event Center. This will help tremendously with social distancing for your safety during the election. Be sure to vote and let your voice be heard.

Have a great fall!
Michael LePage
Village President

Leaf Pickup

We are asking that you place your leaves on the grass between the curb and the sidewalk. Placing the leaves on the grass, instead of the street, enables us to pick up the leaves during wet conditions and protects our storm sewers in the process. We will start picking up leaves on Mon., Oct.12th and continue to be scheduled to pick up leaves on Mon. & Thurs. until Mon. Nov. 30th pending the weather. Please have your leaves out by 7:00 am on the day of pickup.

Do not place anything but leaves in the piles. Also for everyone’s safety please remember if you can’t see the operator of the Leaf Machine, he cannot see you. Thank you for your cooperation!
