Work has begun on E. Michigan Ave. & S. Frank St. We hope to have it finished by the end of October weather permitting. The leaf machine is ready to go and will be in operation as soon as leaves begin to fall. Watch for it on your street. Speaking of fall the 2019 Halloween Trick-or-Treat hours will be Thursday, October 31st from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm with a curfew for 17 and under after 9 pm Tuesday through Friday. Another Festival is in the books and what an extremely hot one it was. Thanks to the Festival Committee and all volunteers that work so hard to put it on. Our infrastructure replacement project on East Michigan Avenue and South Frank Street will be starting soon and will be completed by October. The Village has many summer projects planned that will be getting underway very shortly. You may have noticed yellow ribbons on many trees around town, they have been identified and prioritized for removal. If you have a question on one on your property, please contact the Village Hall. Spring Cleanup/Brush Pick-up

The DPW will be doing a Spring Cleanup/Brush Pick-up Thursday, April 11th and Thursday, April 25th. This is the only time the DPW will be picking up brush and yard waste. Emterra’s first yard waste pickup will be Wednesday, April 3rd and continue every Wednesday until October. Yard Waste needs to be in a container and marked with an “X”.

Snow Removal

To make the job of snow removal, go as smoothly as possible, please do not put your trash in the street and if possible, please wait to set your trash out until after the plows have passed. If you have a portable basketball hoop out by the street, please move it back so the plows do not hit them.

Leaf Pickup

Leaf pickup will conclude on Friday December 7th for the season. Keep in mind that you can put leaves in a container with an X on it going forward, on normal trash pickup days.

2018 Trick-or-Treat Activities in Pigeon

Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-treat in Pigeon will be on Wednesday, October 31st from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. There will also be a fun event happening at the Pigeon Municipal Parking Lot and Farmers Market during this time - Trunk or Treat!

Curfew

There is a Curfew of 9:00 pm for anyone 17 and under, Monday, Oct. 29th, Tuesday, Oct. 30th, Wednesday, Oct. 31st and Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018.

Yard Waste Pickup

At the March Village Council Meeting, a representative of Emterra Environmental Services presented to council a renewal bid for trash services in the Village. Also discussed was the possibility of curbside yard waste pickup.

Sanitary Sewer Cleaning

The Village of Pigeon and our qualified contractor, Michigan Pipe Inspection, Inc. / Tri-County Vac Service, L.L.C. are scheduled to clean sanitary sewer mains in your community beginning April, 2018 through the end of June, 2018.

SAW Grant

The village has received a $320,000 grant from the state to clean and video all the Sanitary Sewer Mains in the village. Over the next couple of months contractor’s working for the village be here to complete the cleaning and videoing. Spicer Group has been hired by the village to facilitate the grant. You will see Spicer in town periodically throughout the summer.
